Sugar solution instructions
To prepare a 1:1 sugar solution for spring/summer feeding, bring one part water to a boil. Then turn off the heat and stir in an equal amount of sugar by weight, stirring until dissolved, and then cool.
The 2:1 solution is prepared using two parts sugar by weight to one part water. One cup of sugar weighs approximately the same as 1 1/8 cups of water. So, to prepare a 1:1 sugar solution, use 8 cups of water and 9 cups of granulated sugar.
